What it actually looks like to volunteer with GETS, and answers to what people usually ask us.
This is what showing up looks like.Nobody walks straight into a session with our girls. Every new volunteer goes through a short training first. We walk you through how GETS runs, basic safeguarding, and what our mentorship style looks like in the room, so you feel ready before you’re paired with the students.
No. We look for passion and trust, not credentials. Training is included.
Both. On campus at RLS, or fully remote.
A one-year commitment, on a schedule that works for you.
We send an application, get to know you, then walk you through training.
Boys join our events too, but the three pathways are a space built for girls.
Yes. Men and women are equally welcome to mentor and support GETS.
Not currently, but volunteers are first in line if that changes.
No. We have volunteers around the world supporting remotely.
18 and up. Past that, showing up matters more than age.
